Ultra-left students of Jadavpur University brutally attacked on peaceful right wing protesters

Kolkata: left wing student activists of Jadavpur University attacked on peaceful protesters belonging to Hindu Jagran Manch and Bengali Hindu Astitva Manch on Thursday evening. The activists belonging to the right wing Hindu organizations were brutally beaten up on the streets just outside of the Jadavpur University campus, admist roaring slogans of “Lal Salam.”

The activists belonging to the right wing organizations were protesting against the vandalization of Shyama Prasad Mookherjee’s statue by leftist organizations. The protest was taking place at the 8B bus stand that is located just outside of the Jadavpur University campus, when Leftist students who were far greater in number came out with sticks and communist flags.

The leftist students who were carrying posters comparing RSS with international terrorist organization ISIS, soon turned violent and attacked on largely peaceful right wing protesters. The protesters were beaten up brutally openly on the streets of the city while Kolkata police played role of mute spectators. The leftist students also burned posters having Hindu holy symbol OM.

However later the leftists tried to shrug the blame off their shoulders by alleging that the right wingers were trying to attack the statue of Vladimir Lenin that is situated near bus stand.

This is not the first time the ultra-leftist students of Jadavpur University are in the news reports for all the wrong reasons. Because of the one-sided dominance of the left-leaning organizations in its campus JU is often compared with the Jawaharlal University of New Delhi. In 2016 after seditious slogans were raised at JNU similar slogans were also raised from the campus of JU. The leftist students of JU had also tried to forcefully stop the screening of anti-communist movie Buddha in a traffic jam inside the campus and while doing so they had physically assaulted a professor known for having RSS leanings.
