Unknown side of Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje

Hailing from the royal family of Gwalior, Vasundhara Raje Scindia is known as a headstrong politician inside the political circles of the country.

Being a two time Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje is also the first ever woman to hold the office. With her strong personality and decisive leadership skills, she’s easily one of the most recognizable political faces of contemporary India.

However apart from everything that is mentioned, there’s another side of Vasundhara Raje Scindia, about which most are unaware of. She is an avid follower of sports, especially of those involving women. Being a strong advocate of women empowerment she’s a huge supporter of female sports.

When Gymnast Dipa Karmakar bagged a gold in world championship a couple of days back, Vasundhara Raje was one of the first politician to congratulate her. Showering praises on the gymnast she said, “Congratulations #DipaKarmakar on this wonderful feat. The nation is proud of you.”

Karmakar had fell just seconds short of a medal, two years back at Rio Olympics.

Earlier she had congratulated three female kabaddi players of Rajasthan police on being selected in Indian team for Asian games.

This however don’t mean that she doesn’t follow men’s sports. She had also congratulated Indian senior men’s cricket team after they convincingly defeated England 2-1, in T-20 series.

Unlike other female politicians of her times, Raje not only manages time to follow sports but she also always encourage the players to do well.
