VHP welcomes verdict on Babri demolition case, calls it “vindication of truth and justice”

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Wednesday welcomed the CBI Court’s acquittal of 32 accused in Babri structure demolition case, including senior BJP leaders Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh. Alok Kumar, central working president of the VHP, said that the verdict is a “vindication of truth and justice.”

“Today’s judgment has busted the conspiracy theory, it is time to eschew politics, shed prejudices and instead to keep looking into the past now to look forward to work unitedly for the unity and progress of Bharat,” Kumar said.

“We call upon the Society to now look forward to the urgent tasks at hand, the completion of a Grand Temple at Shri Ramjanmabhoomi, the eradication of social inequalities and establishment of Samrasta,” he added.

A special CBI court in the Lucknow on Wednesday acquitted all the accused in Babri structure demolition case, concluding that it was not a pre-planned conspiracy but an action of miscreants. The court said that no conclusive evidence establishing the accused as guilty could be furnished by the agency.

Reading out the judgment in open court, the judge did not accept the newspapers as piece of evidence as the original sources of them were not produced and proved. He also did not rely of the photos of incident as their negatives were not produced.
