Video: AAP West Delhi candidate’s son claims that his father paid Rs 6 crore to Arvind Kejriwal

Just one day ahead of the Delhi Lok Sabha elections, the son of an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate made a sensational claim that his father paid Rs 6 crore to Arvind Kejriwal. The claim was made by the son of AAP West Delhi candidate Balbir Singh Jakhar.

“My father joined politics about three months ago, he had paid Arvind Kejriwal Rs 6 crore for a ticket, I have credible evidence that he had paid for this ticket,” Balbir Singh Jakhar’s son Uday told news agency ANI on Saturday.

“A person who has portrayed a clean image, Mr Arvind Kejriwal, who stands with Anna Hazare, bringer of hope for India and New Delhi, this is an allegation on him…that he has sold out West Delhi for Rs 6 crore,” he further attacked the Delhi Chief Minister.

Uday had also accused his father of not helping out with finances for his education but could pay Kejriwal for a Lok Sabha ticket.

Balbir Jakhar later publicly clarified his stand and said that he does not stay with his estranged son ever since his divorce with his wife. He added that he speaks to his son rarely and has not spoken to him anything about his candidature.

“I condemn the allegations. I have never discussed with my son anything about my candidature. I speak to him very rarely. He stays at his maternal parents’ home from the time of his birth and I divorced my wife in 2009. She stayed with me for only 6-7 months. His custody was granted to my wife after the divorce,” he said, news agency ANI reported.
