Anil Kumble is the best bowler India has ever produced beyond a shout of a doubt. Virender Sehwag is perhaps the most loved Indian cricketer at the moment. Both of these players, apart from their supremely illustrious career have something in common. Their simplicity has won over the hearts of Indian fans as well as massive fan bases all over the globe
However, in a recent activity organized by the BCCI on their official Twitter handle, the world found out just how Kumble would feel if he bowled to Virender Sehwag. Asking the question was a fan, who wanted to know what was going through the mind of Kumble whilst bowling to the dashing Indian opener when the latter was batting on 299. Little did the twitter user who asked the question know the sort of answer he was going to get from the incumbent Indian coach.
Kumble, in a video posted by BCCI on its Twitter page, said, “It is a tricky question which you have asked. What makes you think that I will let Virender Sehwag score 299 in the first place. No, I am just joking. It was nice that Viru was part of my team. It was always nice to sit and watch him blast the bowlers from ball one. And I remember him hitting those sixes when he was near a milestone. It was wonderful to bowl to Viru in the nets and have him as a team-mate. He was a great player.”
Kumble has made a comeback to the Indian cricket team at the age of 45 to serve in a coaching capacity. The fact that the Indians are performing as well as they are at the moment, is a clear evidence of the fact that the former India skipper is certainly doing the job he was hired to.
