Gujarat State owned fertilizer and chemical Company, GNFC has started selling fertilizers through cashless transactions in line with the government’s idea of a cashless economy.

“So far we have installed PoS machines at various fertilizer retail centers in all 33 districts of Gujarat. 98,775 farmers have purchased 11.9 lac bags of fertilizers amounting to Rs 40.3 crore though cashless transactions in 40 days from GNFC retail outlets. “ said Rajiv Kumar Gupta, managing director, GNFC .The fertilizer sales in the month of December alone are up 89% as compared to the corresponding period previous year he said.

The company is the first fertilizer company according to its management to adopt methods for cashless transactions. It is using card swipe machines, online sale through GNFC website and mobile apps and also though e-wallets. GNFC has also declared a special rebate scheme to encourage farmers and retailers to adopt cashless transactions. Not only this, but its township has also now become cashless. Watch the Video below:
