West Bengal government announces compensation for the family of Rajasthan video victim

On Friday the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee announced a compensation of rupees 3 Lakhs for the family of MD. Afrajul khan. Khan is the labor belonging to Malda, West Bengal who was killed by Shambhunath in Rajasthan. Video of his murder went viral Thursday on Internet. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, condemned the murder and called it to be the murder of humanity. The government of West Bengal will also provide a job to one member of the victim’s family and is also planning to start a monthly pension for them.

“We are trying to start an immediate pension for the family. We are also trying to arrange a job for one of the three girls of the deceased, as instructed by the Chief Minister. We will try to aid the struggling family as much as possible,” said the magistrate of Malda District, Kaushik Bhattacharya.

The body of Afrajul has been brought back to his home. A team compromising Ministers, MLA’s and TMC leaders has been sent to the house of Khan. The youth wing of TMC carried out a candle march in kolkata protesting against the incident.

The BJP West Bengal state president, Dilip Ghosh has slammed the Chief Minister. While condemning the incident he also asked why Chief Minister didn’t react similarly when minorites were killed in various parts of her own state. He said that the Chief Minister should think why the people of Bengal are having to go to other states in search of work. He also expressed his faith in the BJP government of Rajasthan and believes that they will take strong actions.

Trinamool Congress seems to be doing everything to use the incident against BJP and Saffron brigade.
The political temperature of West Bengal is expected to rise in coming days.
