Amid speculations on whether the Army would handover, soldier Jeetendra Malik (Jeetu fauji) who has been accused of being involved in the Bulandshahr violence, General Bipin Rawat has said that he will be produced before police if there are evidences against him.
Police sources have accused Jeetu Fauji of shooting Shyana police station SHO Subodh Kumar Singh from point-blank range, during the Bulandshahr violence. “If there are any evidence and police feel that they suspect him, then we will produce him before them. We will fully cooperate with police,” news agency ANI quoted General Rawat as saying.
Reportedly, Jeetu has already been detained by his unit at Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, Bulandshahr SSP Krishna Kumar Singh has been transferred to the DGP Headquarters in Lucknow. He is replaced by Sitapur SP Prabhakar Chaudhary, who took over as the new district police chief.
SHO Subodh Kumar Singh had received inputs of stone pelting in the area. When he reached there, a stone hit him on head and he fell unconscious. When he was being taken to the hospital, the mob again attacked their jeep. The policemen who accompanied him fled the scene and he was shot dead allegedly by Fauji.
However, the deceased police officer’s family has allegedly a deeper conspiracy behind the murder. According to the family’s allegations, Singh has been receiving threats ever since he took up the investigating of Md. Akhlaq murder case. The officer’s wife, Rajini Rathore even threatened to commit suicide and demanded CBI probe into the case.
“My husband was killed in a planned manner as part of a conspiracy. If the guilty go unpunished, I will commit suicide by shooting myself. I want a CBI probe to reveal the actual facts and reasons behind my husband’s death,” Rajini had said.
