Uttar Pradesh is all set to host world’s largest religious gathering, Kumbh mela, which will be commencing from 15th of January. Apart from being perhaps the most grandest Kumbh of all time with the state going all out to make the event historic, this year’s Kumbh could also be the cleanest one till date.
The Uttar Pradesh state government led by Yogi Adityanath has taken special care of the event’s hygiene and sanitation, which is reflected by this year’s theme, ‘Swachh Kumbh, Surakshit Kumbh (clean Kumbh, safe Kumbh)’. In line with the theme, the Kumbh Mela authority has installed 1.22 lakh toilets in the area and a total of 50 reverse osmosis water ATMs at various locations.
The state government has allotted Rs 4,300 crore for creating the necessary infrastructure for the Kumbh Mela 2019. Recently, Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Rita Bahaguna Joshi had said that the Kumbh Mela is being organised at 3,200 hectares of land.
Last month, UP minister Srikant Sharma said that the state government has made elaborate arrangements for Kumbh Mela 2019. He said that the authorities would put 3,000 tents having the capacity of accommodating 6,000 people, 1.22 lakh toilets, 40,000 LED lights, modern control and command centre and 1,400 CCTV cameras to monitor the crowd during the Maha Kumbh.
